Our Mission
The foreign language program of District #145 prepares students to have communication skills and cultural perspectives to be global citizens through authentic and relevant learning experiences.

Program Outcomes
  • Communication - Communicate in languages other than English.
  • Language Structure and Culture - Analyze the target and native languages and their cultures.
  • Integration of other Disciplines - Apply knowledge of language and culture to access and integrate information to and from other disciplines.                        
Beliefs
  • A K-12 articulated foreign language program should be available to all students.
  • All students can learn and experience success in a foreign language.
  • Second language acquisition provides vision and skills necessary to be a global citizen.
  • The primary goal of foreign language education should be authenic communication.
